Going on a Pogo stick for the first time in years was way more challenging than I expected. But since I had to break up my work day and do something fun, I decided to play with my niece's brand new Pogo stick!
It was fresh out of the box and royal blue with silver pieces and black handles. Truly, a beautiful creation.
I wanted to try it so badly, but of course it wasn't mine, so I had to wait my turn.
Seeing as I hadn't been on a Pogo stick in over 20 years, I was feeling a little self-conscious about it, but I still wanted to do it. I used to be a pro, so of course, I wanted to jump on and still be. But that's not how things work.
As you know, things change. People change. They get older, and wider... I mean wiser (in my case both).
I watched patiently while everyone else had their turn, and at the same time, I continued to build courage to try it myself again.
At last, it was my turn. Yay!
You should have seen me. Bounce...bounce...fall. Bounce...bounce...fall.
Although I didn't do nearly as well as I did when I was 20, I still had fun. And since this is the week of my 40th birthday, I think I'm going to ask for a Pogo stick for a birthday present! :)
It'll be awesome to have one of my own, and get back up to bouncing for hours again.
Who knows, maybe when I turn 41, I'll just be older and wiser, but instead of wider, looking better than ever!
